Services
I offer a range of flexible counselling options to best suit your personal preferences, schedule, and comfort level. Each approach has its own unique benefits - choose the one that feels right for you.
FACE TO FACE COUNSELLING
Many clients prefer the warmth and connection of in-person interaction, particularly when discussing sensitive topics. Face-to-face sessions take place in a private, comfortable therapy room where we can build rapport and trust through personal presence. This traditional approach can be particularly beneficial for those who value non-verbal communication and prefer a dedicated space for their therapeutic journey.

VIDEO COUNSELLING
Online video sessions offer the perfect balance of personal connection and convenience. This option is ideal for those with busy schedules, limited travel options, or who simply feel more comfortable engaging in therapy from their own space. Video counselling provides the same quality of care as in-person sessions, with the added flexibility of accessing support from wherever you feel most at ease.

TELEPHONE COUNSELLING
Phone sessions provide maximum flexibility and accessibility, making therapy more manageable for those with demanding schedules or mobility constraints. Many clients find that telephone counselling offers an enhanced sense of privacy and anonymity, which can help them feel more comfortable opening up. This format can be particularly beneficial for those who experience social anxiety or prefer to focus purely on verbal communication in their therapeutic journey.

Common questions about therapy
Whether you're considering therapy for the first time or returning to it, I hope these answers help you understand what to expect and feel more confident about taking the next step.
If you have a question that's not answered here, use my contact form to get in touch.
Counselling involves a series of formal sessions where yourself and I can talk about your issues and feelings. The sessions take place at a regular, agreed time and in a ‘safe’ private place where we will not be overheard or interrupted.
Therapy may involve talking about life events, feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. I will listen, encourage and empathise, but may also challenge to help you to see your issues more clearly or from a different perspective.
Counselling is not about giving advice or opinions, nor is it a friendly chat with a friend. I will however, always try to help you understand yourself better and find your own solutions to resolve or cope with your situation.
There's no checklist you need to tick. Some people come to therapy with a clear issue - anxiety, a bereavement, a relationship breakdown. Others just feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like something isn't right, but they can't put their finger on it. Both are equally valid reasons to reach out. If you're thinking about talking to a counsellor, that's usually a good sign it could help.
I work with adults and young people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma and PTSD
- OCD
- Eating disorders
- Grief and bereavement
- Relationship difficulties
- Behavioural issues
- Panic attacks
- Stress and burnout
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Life transitions
This isn't an exhaustive list. If you're unsure whether what you're going through is something I can help with, get in touch and we can have a conversation about it.
When you consider therapy, it can be important to think about a number of things to ensure you feel like this is the right time for you. For example your general mental health, the challenges you have faced, your openness to the process of therapy, and any goals you may have. While the decision to enter therapy is deeply personal and a unique process for each individual, I am happy to discuss this together in a booked consultation.
Before we meet, I'll ask you to sign a short agreement that sets out how we'll work together. The first session itself is about getting to know each other. I'll ask some questions about what's brought you to therapy, but there's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. It's as much about you getting a feel for me as it is the other way around.
Yes. Everything discussed in our sessions stays between us. There are a small number of exceptions to this, which are standard across the profession, and I'll explain these clearly before we start. Confidentiality is the foundation of everything I do.
I offer both short-term counselling which usually consists of 6-12 sessions & open-ended counselling. Based on my training and my experience as both client and therapist, I view the therapeutic relationship as the catalyst through which the work of healing, growth, and change takes place. Having regular weekly sessions, helps to build and strengthen that relationship, which in turn improves the quality of the therapeutic process.
It depends on what you're working through. Some clients find that 6-12 sessions gives them what they need. Others prefer longer-term, open-ended therapy. We'll check in regularly so you always feel in control of the process. There's no fixed commitment and you can stop whenever you're ready.
Yes. I offer video and telephone sessions alongside face-to-face appointments. Many of my clients choose online counselling for the flexibility it offers. The quality of the session is the same regardless of how we connect.
Full details and pricing are on my services page. I also offer a limited number of low-cost sessions for those who need them. Get in touch if cost is a concern and we can talk about it.
Payments can be made via BACS or cash.
Fees may still apply if you do not attend your session and no contact is made 24 hours prior to your session.
Yes, It is important that no matter what your situation, you still have access to support. My low cost fee is £50 for video, phone and face-to-face sessions. Please note spaces may be limited.
