My commitment

I strive to ensure everyone feels welcomed, included and valued regardless of their background, age, disability, race, religion, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation by creating and maintaining an atmosphere of openness, trust, and safety where all attitudes, beliefs, values, and behaviours can be freely explored and discussed. I am trained in multi-cultural counselling and provide high quality and multiculturally sensitive services that affirm the dignity, worth and value of all individuals.

Not just as your Counsellor but as a human being I will continue to:

  • Stop and examine how dominant systems shape how I see myself as a white woman, see others and move through the world.
  • To look deep within myself and to challenge, explore and reflect on any discomfort.
  • Engage in reflective exercises in order to cement the work and put understanding into action.
  • Remove any cultural blindspots and continue to develop my learning and knowledge.

As a BACP member I work in accordance with the Ethical Framework - find out more.
